With our hearts pounding (mainly for animation ofc), we had set meetings with each of our advisors to officially pitch our "visual album" to them. We assumed it was going to be with all the advisors together during the Sunday morning class in CIU. However, we were wrong. What we did during CIU was more of like a mock presentation and received feedback before officially presenting to our advisors.
Animation Pitch Presentation
With a few delays in the pitch presentation timing (from the advisor's side), we were still able to present by Tuesday. The presentation was done only for the animation aspect of the entire project and was covered in roughly 6 minutes. No feedback was received except for the fact that the presentation is good to go as it had everything necessary. Seemed like a bummer because I was expecting to hear some input from my advisor on what he thinks about the project and maybe guide us on how to go about it.
Attached below is the presentation in pdf format. Head to pg. 22 for the animation department.
Attached is also a link to the recorded presentation with Bing.

Design Pitch Presentation
The design team in our group said that Hibba wanted to have the overall presentation with the team along with a separate detailed presentation for the design team. Hence the design team had their presentation with her separately before we joined in on Wednesday at 10:30 AM.

The reason why I am documenting the other pitch presentations in my journal is because I felt good after the presentations done with the other advisors because of the feedback and helpful criticism they shared. Firstly, they were extremely optimistic and excited about the overall idea of the project. Hibba believes that the project has great potential and "can't wait to see how the project unfolds". She also mentioned how impressed she is with the organisation and can see how passionate each of us are in the way we had been presenting. I wished we received some sort of feedback from Bing but oh well...

Film Pitch Presentation
This, by far, was the best presentation of the week. We left Robbie speechless. That's it. Completely blown away.
The presentation went roughly for around 50 mins but that's because everyone had spent ample time explaining their contributions. After the presentation was done, Robbie asked us all to rate ourselves and our presentation. I felt we did well and were confident in what we had provided but I would've graded myself at a low DD - still a DD though.
What surprised me the most was that Josh said he'd give the animation department an HD and Robbie agreed. Robbie added to that saying that he has never seen any animation team (from his past experience in advising groups) who had an animatic ready in week 4. He was really impressed at how we had deliverables with an animatic and storyboards. Our idea and vision was also very well articulated and conveyed. This genuinely made my heart so happy, I was on top of the moon.
It felt extremely relieving to hear such awesome feedback especially coming from a department that doesn't usually motivate the students. I am not sure if this is just a managerial thing or if the animation department are just too harsh for the purpose of pushing students. I get that it's a nice way of training students to work harder but I believe it is equally as important to motivate students and reassure them that they are on the right track with things, especially when production times can get hard.
Hence, in overall, the pitch presentations went well and are all greenlit. We are good to go!
Weekly task due
From the animation side, the 2D animatic was approved and now we are in the process of converting it into 3D. It will be submitted for the next meeting with our advisor.
Other weekly updates from the overall team is that we are most likely going to get sponsored and backed up by a production company so that is really exciting news! Even more, we might have a potential cast lead, so things are looking promising! Let's see how it all goes.
